My rod puppet, created for the fourth assignment in Puppets & Performing Objects, is a Vegas performer. His head is stocking. His eyes, hands, and feet are Sculpey. His torso is cardboard. His arms are armature wire. His hands have eyelets so that they can be controlled with attached wood dowels. His legs are attached to a pivot, and when you pull a string his knees bend kicking his legs up. Working with mechanisms is hard. You’ve really got to experiment and fail about a dozen times before you get it right.
